Role Purpose:

The Chiller Plant Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining chiller plant systems to ensure efficient cooling operations within the facility. The role involves ensuring optimal performance of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment while maintaining safety and energy efficiency standards.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

• Operate   and monitor chiller plant systems, including chillers, pumps,  cooling towers, and related equipment. 
• Ensure smooth operation of the centralized cooling system and maintain  required temperature levels. 
• Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and systems. 
• Perform   preventive and corrective maintenance of chiller plant equipment. 
• Monitor and record operational parameters such as temperature, pressure, and   flow rates. 
• Identify  and troubleshoot mechanical or operational faults in the chiller system. 
• Ensure  proper functioning of valves, compressors, condensers, and control systems. 
• Maintain   operational logs and report equipment issues or abnormalities to  the supervisor. 
• Ensure  compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. 
• Coordinate   with HVAC technicians and maintenance teams during repairs or shutdowns. 

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum  3–5 years of experience in operating and maintaining chiller  plants or HVAC central plant systems. 
• Strong knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related mechanical  systems. 
• Familiarity with BMS (Building Management System) monitoring and controls. 
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and system schematics. 
• Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical / HVAC Engineering   preferred.
