The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of the Facilities Management business, ensuring revenue growth, cost control, contract compliance, and risk mitigation. This role focuses on optimizing commercial strategies, managing contract variations, overseeing invoicing and revenue recognition, and ensuring alignment with company financial objectives and operational execution. The role also ensures all commercial risks are assessed and addressed efficiently.
1. Ensure proper setup of new contracts, including customer and contract codes, in alignment with company processes.
2. Manage contract variations, claims, and renewals, ensuring compliance with company objectives and profitability targets.
3. Conduct regular contract reviews and liaise with legal teams to ensure all commercial terms are well-documented and mitigate risks.
4. Oversee subcontractor variations, ensuring proper approval and integration into financial planning.
5. Ensure alignment between operational delivery and commercial terms to maximize revenue recovery.
1. Lead the cost-value reconciliation (CVR) process to ensure alignment between projected revenues and actual costs.
2. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for FM contracts, ensuring profitability.
3. Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, billing, and payment tracking for FM services.
4. Manage financial risks related to revenue collection and invoicing disputes, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
5. Conduct commercial reviews of sales invoices, cost transfers, and credit notes, ensuring approvals are in line with financial governance.
6. Ensure recoverable variations are documented, justified, and submitted for approval within agreed timelines.
7. Work with Finance to ensure contract revenues are recognized correctly, avoiding revenue leakages.
1. Support operations teams in managing financial exposure related to penalties, deductions, and performance-linked payments.
2. Implement governance over non-budgeted expenditures, ensuring proper approvals and financial controls.
3. Ensure proper documentation and validation of KPI penalties and manage negotiations to minimize financial exposure.
4. Lead dispute resolution for financial claims and contractual issues with clients and subcontractors.
1. Work closely with operations, finance, procurement, and legal teams to optimize contract execution and commercial effectiveness.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for clients on all commercial matters, ensuring contract performance and customer satisfaction.
3. Lead the training and development of internal teams on commercial and contract management best practices.
