Role Purpose:

A CNC Programmer / Production Programmer (in Duct Manufacturing) is responsible for translating HVAC designs and technical blueprints into precise instructions for automated fabrication machines. This role is critical for producing airtight, efficient ductwork and complex custom fittings. 

Key Task and Responsibilities:

Program Development: Create programs on Alphacam/Eurosoft/NX/CAM duct for phenolic duct fabrication for square/rectangular and flat oval ducts.

Software Utilization: Using specialized CAD/CAM software (such as Autodesk Fabrication CAMduct or Mastercam) to generate toolpaths and simulate manufacturing cycles.

Nesting Optimization: Arranging multiple duct parts on a single metal sheet to maximize material usage and minimize scrap waste.

Machine Coordination: Configuring programs for various fabrication equipment, including:

• Phenolic duct cutting Machines: For high-precision cutting of various phenolic thicknesses.
• Insulation Lines: Managing automated systems that uncoil, flatten, and notch metal sheets.

Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving code errors, tool wear issues, or surface finish problems during the production run

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to interpret HVAC shop drawings.
• Material Knowledge: Familiarity with sheet metal types common in ductwork, such as galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Control Systems: Experience with controllers like FANUC, Mitsubishi, or Siemens.
• Precision Focus: Ensuring that all components meet industry standards (e.g., SMACNA or AS9100) for airtight connections and structural integrity.
