Role Purpose:

A Business Development & Catering Manager drives sales, expands client base, source potential opportunities in government, schools and hospital entities and manages event execution in the catering industry, focusing on market research, creating tailored solutions, building client relationships, overseeing operations (menus, staff, logistics), ensuring quality/safety, and boosting profitability through strategic planning and marketing, often requiring strong sales, negotiation, and leadership skills. 


Key Task and Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth & Strategy:
  • Develop and implement strategies to find new clients and market opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and cold calling.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct market research on trends, competitors, and client needs.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and negotiate contracts.


  • Client & Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Act as A Liaison between clients & internal teams to address concerns an d facilitate smooth operation.
  • Understand client needs to offer customized catering solutions.


  • Operations & Event Management:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute catering events from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with culinary teams on innovative menus.
  • Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance.
  • Oversee logistics, setup, and service flow.


  • Financial & Quality Control:
  • Monitor budgets, track costs, and analyse performance for profitability.
  • Ensure high product quality, safety, and compliance with health standards.
  • Gather feedback for continuous improvement. 

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven sales/business development experience (preferably in catering/hospitality).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of the food & beverage (F&B) industry.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Results-driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
