Role Purpose:

The Irrigation Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and healthy landscape growth. The role involves supervising installation teams, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring compliance with water regulations and client requirements.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop irrigation systems for various landscaping projects including parks, gardens, commercial, and residential developments.
• Conduct site assessments to determine water source availability, soil conditions, and specific landscape needs.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of irrigation systems including drip, sprinkler, and automated systems.
• Monitor system performance and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Adjust irrigation schedules based on weather, season, and plant requirements to optimize water use.
• Work with horticulturists and landscape architects to coordinate irrigation with planting plans.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards as well as local water use regulations.
• Prepare cost estimates, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Train and manage irrigation technicians and ensure quality of work on site.
• Use software tools for system design and scheduling (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, irrigation controllers).

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in landscaping or irrigation system design and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of different irrigation systems, water conservation techniques, and irrigation automation.
• Ability to interpret site plans, landscape designs, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with irrigation design tools and controllers (e.g., Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Valid UAE driving license (preferred).
