The Facility Engineer in a facility management business is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a facility. This role ensures that all MEP systems operate efficiently, comply with safety and regulatory standards, and support the overall operational objectives of the facility. Energy Management and Optimization: Monitor and analyse energy consumption patterns to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and cost savings. Implement energy-saving initiatives, such as upgrading equipment, optimizing system settings, and promoting sustainable practices. Conduct regular assessments of MEP systems to ensure compliance with energy efficiency standards and regulations.
Project Management: Plan and oversee MEP projects, including system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations, ensuring alignment with facility requirements and budget constraints. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to manage project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards. Prepare project documentation, including scopes of work, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all MEP systems comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an MEP Engineer in a facility management or similar industry.
• Professional engineering license or certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
