Role Purpose:

A Barista warmly welcomes customers into their establishment. They create and serve hot or cold beverages, often tailored to the customer's preferences. They are responsible for taking customer orders and payments. They also clean and sanitize their work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools.


Key Task and Responsibilities:

Customer Experience: Understanding the customer journey and ensures customer experience is up to Service standards.
Sequence of Service: Understand and adhere to the defined sequence of services as per restaurant standards.
Table Maintenance: Table clearance, replenishing, being available for customer requests.
Cash and Billing: Delivering bill when requested, Correct cash/credit card handling procedure.
Use of POS for order taking: Ability to navigate the POS system for correct order taking.
Mise-en-Place Preparation: Preparing the restaurant/cafe for service as per defined standards.
Teamwork: Supports and collaborates with colleagues and peers to ensure seamless customer experience. Accurate information handover at shift change.
Drinks Recipes: Understanding recipes and methods for making beverages.
Product Knowledge: Understand the ingredients in the dish, allergens, cooking preparation and presentation.
Sales Pitch and Upselling: Ability to describe the USP's of the Products available on the Menu. Identify and use opportunities to cross sell.
Cleaning and Hygiene: Adhere to H&S regulations and follows cleaning and Maintenance schedules for equipment.


Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the  restaurant or café business
Good beverage-making and customer interaction skills.
Solid customer background, customer service, cash handling, preferably food service related.
Good Team management skills
